Delaware Theatre Company to Showcase a Viking Original Play

Freshman playwright, Felicia Vitelli, will be featured in the 2020-2021 Delaware Young Playwrights Festival (DYPF)!
DYPF received 57 new plays from 62 playwrights representing eleven schools from all three counties in Delaware.
This year's DYPF challenge was to write a play in which a character must overcome a challenge in connecting -- or reconnecting -- to a world of in-person encounters. While the theme is clearly COVID relevant, Felicia's play Brown Paper Bags takes place in a remote western setting where her protagonist is avoiding society due to her deep grief about losing her family in a horrific auto accident. But when she meets a quirky new grocery delivery person, he helps her take a step back into the community of man.

DTC will recognize the work of 62 students in the state, including ten students from St. Elizabeth. In addition, Felicia will be recognized as one of the six winning playwrights and will have her original play performed by professional actors during the event.
This virtual event will take place Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. Tune in and enjoy live interviews with six playwrights, performances by professional actors of the winning plays, and awards and recognitions for all of the student playwrights who wrote for this year’s DYPF.
