Vikings Support "Spread the Word to End the Word" Campaign
The VKNation is doing our part to support Special Olympics' national campaign by pledging to make the world a more accepting & inclusive place for people with intellectual disABILITIES.
By sporting this year's Inclusion t-shirt, students pledge to stop saying the R-word as a starting point toward creating more accepting attitudes and communities for all people, especially in schools. Respectful and inclusive language is essential to the movement for the dignity and humanity of people with intellectual disABILITIES. However, most of society does not recognize the hurtful, dehumanizing and exclusive effects of the R-word.
So we ask you to make your pledge for Respect and help us create a more inclusive environment for all.
Many thanks to our St. E Blue-Gold/Project Unify Club for helping promote this year's inclusion campaign. With support from our St. E community, we were able to sell 300 t-shirts with all proceeds benefitting Special Olympics.
