Fostering Students Spiritual Development

Beyond the Classroom

Essence of a Well-rounded Educational Experience

St. Elizabeth School offers a broad range of activities for various grade levels that contribute to the overall leadership, service, and spiritual growth of our students.

Beyond academics, a wealth of vibrant extracurricular activities awaits, inviting students to explore their interests and talents while crafting their unique narratives at St. E. Vikings have the opportunity to engage in athletics, the arts, diverse clubs, and community service initiatives, enabling them to pursue their passions, hone leadership skills, form enduring friendships, and create unforgettable memories. We strongly encourage our students to immerse themselves in these experiences, as they cultivate well-rounded individuals dedicated to making a positive impact in the world beyond the halls of St. E.

Clubs & Activities

Opportunities to Shape Your Own Story

At St. Elizabeth School, clubs and activities are more than ways to “fill time” after class — they are opportunities for students to actively shape their own story in the light of faith.  Through service clubs, the arts, athletics, academic teams, and leadership organizations, students discover their God-given gifts, develop skills, and deepen friendships rooted in shared values.

Each experience becomes a chapter in their personal narrative — teaching perseverance on the playing field, creativity in the art studio, compassion through service projects, and courage in public speaking or debate.

Because Catholic education views every student as a unique creation of God with a mission, extracurricular life is designed to help them explore that calling. Whether they are leading a student council initiative, performing in a school play, volunteering at a parish event, or joining a faith-sharing group, students learn to see their talents as part of a larger purpose.

In this way, clubs and activities do more than add to a résumé — they weave together moments of growth, service, and joy that help students write a life story grounded in faith, character, and a readiness to serve the world.

Strengthening Our Faith Through Service

"Help Us to See and Serve You in Our Neighbor & to Miss No Opportunity of Doing Good in Your Name."

St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church grew from humble beginnings into a vibrant community through inspired leadership and sacrifice. Bishop John J. Monaghan sought a space for a church serving all nationalities, naming it in honor of St. Elizabeth, cousin of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Father William Temple was appointed the first pastor and immediately planned for a parochial school. With the help of the Benedictine Sisters of Ridgley, Maryland,  St. Elizabeth School opened in 1908 rooted in the Benedictine tradition, emphasizing the personal and spiritual growth of students and the school community.

117 years later, our faculty and staff remain committed to embodying St. Benedict's values of hospitality, peace, prayer, compassion, and the dignity of work.

To enhance our relationship with God, we celebrate monthly Mass and offer students the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent and Lent. Each day begins and ends with prayer, fostering spiritual development. Elementary students complete a Sacramental Program, receiving First Reconciliation, Holy Communion, and Confirmation, with many becoming altar servers.

Campus Ministry

The Campus Ministry Department is concerned with the faith formation of students, faculty, and staff. St. Elizabeth School is committed to the formation of the whole person and provides a variety of ways to nurture the faith and spirituality of our community.

  • Catholic cultural celebrations that invite the community to live-out the liturgical year.
  • Annual retreats for each class, built around the framework of the Benedictine Pillars.
