Applying for 9th Grade Admission

St. Elizabeth School provides a college-preparatory education to students who seek a learning environment in which they are prepared for a life of continuing education, service to others, and growth in spirituality.

Steps to Apply to 9th Grade

  1. Fill out an Inquiry Form. After you have completed this form you will receive an email with login and application instructions.
  2. Sign up for a Viking for a Day visit. Additionally, families are encouraged to join us for a personal tour or attend Open House on October 17, 2021.
  3. Log in to your newly established OnCampus account to complete your application online. 
  4. All students entering 9th grade at a Diocese of Wilmington High School are required to complete the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Register to take the High School Placement Test at St. Elizabeth School on Saturday, November 13 or Sunday, November 14. There is a $65 fee associated with testing. 
  5. Families interested in applying for financial assistance can find out more information on our Tuition and Financial Assistance webpage, or apply directly here. Financial Assistance applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Important Dates & Deadlines

  • September 2021: Registration for HSPT opens
  • October 4, 2021: Viking for a Day Visits begin
  • October 17, 2021: High School Open House
  • October 25-28, 2021: HSPT Prep Course at St. E
  • November 13, 2021: High School Placement Test
  • November 14, 2021: High School Placement Test
  • December 2021: Acceptances begin to be distributed on a rolling basis
  • February 15, 2022: Early registration deadline for the Class of 2026
  • March 1, 2022: Initial registration deadline for the Class of 2026

The Diocese of Wilmington High School Placement Test (HSPT) is a required admissions step for all students entering 9th grade at St. Elizabeth School.

High School Placement Test Prep Course

Are you looking for strategies to help you prepare for the High School Placement Test? The St. Elizabeth School prep course is designed to better prepare eighth grade students for the High School Placement Test (HSPT).  The course will focus on helping you gain expertise in core subject areas on the HSPT, to learn beneficial test taking strategies, and to generate encouragement and confidence about taking the HSPT.

WHEN:  October 25, 2021 – October 28, 2021 from 3:30 pm – 5:40 pm (each day)

WHERE:  St. Elizabeth School, 1500 Cedar Street, Wilmington, DE 19805

COST:  $125 per student (includes HSPT prep textbook, notebook, pencils and snacks)

Any student who registers for and attends a Viking for a Day visit before the HSPT Prep Course will be eligible to register at a discounted price of $65.00.
Please register for your visit prior to signing up to attend the Prep Course.

INSTRUCTION:  St. E teachers will instruct all sessions on the following subjects:
• Verbal/Reading: reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, usage and writing skills
• Mathematics: algebraic operations and problem-solving techniques
• Test Taking Skills and Time Management
