Vikings Recognized as Top 3% in the Nation

Congratulations to our National Merit Scholars - Ariane Simbulan and Tristen Hudson.

There are approximately 15.3 million high school students in the United States. Of those, the top 50,000 constitute the top 3% and are recognized each year as “Commended Students” by the National Merit Scholarship Program. It is a great honor for any high school to have a commended student in the top 3% of the nation’s high schoolers. We do not just have one commended student this year, we have two! The National Merit Scholarship Program had this to say about our Vikings…

These students, “demonstrate outstanding potential for academic success…they represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”

Please join us in congratulating our nationally commended Viking students: seniors, Ariane Simbulan and Tristen Hudson.
